SCROOMS Rarity Guide: Instruments and Collection
Read the rarity ladder, choose an Index target, compare Luck with catching control, and distinguish mutations from new species.
Rare Scrooms are collection targets whose rarity sits above the common creatures, but rarity is not a guaranteed spawn formula. In SCROOMS, use the area's Index and your instrument's frequency reach to choose a target before turning the session into a long hunt.
Read the rarity ladder correctly
| Position | Tier | How to use the label |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Common | Opening collection targets |
| 2 | Uncommon | Above the Common tier |
| 3 | Rare | A specific named rarity |
| 4 | Wondrous | Above Rare |
| 5 | Fabled | Above Wondrous |
| 6 | Eversung | Highest listed tier |
“Rare” is one named tier; players also use “rare Scrooms” more broadly for the harder collection targets above it. Keep that distinction in mind when comparing a guide headline with an actual Index card. A Wondrous or Fabled card is not simply another name for the Rare tier.
The Index groups species by area. Start with the area you can access, inspect an uncaught card, and note the rarity and frequency information it shows. That gives you a concrete collection goal instead of relying on a claim that every rare creature appears everywhere.
Prepare to finish the encounter you find
Luck influences rare attraction, while Resonance determines frequency reach. Control stats matter after the creature arrives. For a difficult target, a purchase that helps you finish the catch can be more useful than one chosen only because its Luck number looks attractive.
Use the instrument comparison to think through access, control, and reach. Keep the actual equipment screen beside that decision, since a video's catch experience does not establish a universal probability for your next attempt.
Separate a mutation from a missing species
Prefixes such as Melodic, Mossy, Frozen, Blazing, and Charged describe variants of a species. They do not create separate base-species entries in the roster. If your immediate goal is filling an area page, compare the base creature name with the missing card before treating every unusual prefix as a new discovery.
For the highest named tier, see the Eversung reference. Its known entries belong to different areas, so choosing the intended creature and region comes before any serious attempt to hunt it.
Use the official SCROOMS game to check your own Index before choosing a rarer target.
