SCROOMS Homeward Melody: Notes and Set-Spawn Return

Last updated 2026-10-11Unofficial player article

Play Left, Down, Up, Left on the Ocarina, understand the set-spawn destination, and distinguish the return song from catching inputs.

Play Homeward Melody in SCROOMS on the Ocarina with Left → Down → Up → Left. The effect is returning to your set spawn point, so check that destination before treating the melody as a trip back to the original Grove spawn.

Open the unlocked song tool

The Ocarina appears in hotbar slot 5 after its unlock. Open it and select the Homeward Melody action, then use the Ocarina's arrow buttons in the listed sequence. This is a utility-song input, not the frequency slider used to catch a creature.

Follow the ordered notes deliberately rather than pressing every available direction. The important result is the melody's travel effect, not a catching meter or a new creature entry. If you do not yet have the Ocarina, finish Halden's unlock route first.

Choose a return that serves your next task

The destination is the spawn point you have set. If you changed it as part of exploration, the song does not ignore that choice and force you to the initial spawn. Think about where you will arrive before leaving a useful nearby NPC or quest location.

For a selling trip or an early turn-in, the set-spawn return can be convenient when it places you near the destination you need. If your current task is beside you, complete that interaction before playing the return song simply because it is available.

Separate a missing unlock from a wrong sequence

If the tool is not in its later slot, the useful next action is the Ocarina acquisition quest. If it is available, read the selected song name and follow its notes. A different learned melody may have another purpose, so Homeward Melody's sequence should not be treated as the input for every song.

For the broader tool distinction, see the Ocarina guide. Your catching instrument still handles creatures; this melody handles the return journey.

Play the return sequence in the official SCROOMS game and check your arrival location.
