Find Halden in SCROOMS at the log beside a campfire and red tents in Songkeeper’s Grove. He is the NPC Leo directs you to after the opening tutorial, rather than a mushroom you need to catch.

Look for the camp rather than another creature

Use the fire, log, and tents as a cluster of clues. They are more helpful together than looking for one isolated object anywhere in the Grove. Once you reach the seated character, confirm Halden's name through the interaction.

The video demonstrates this distinction directly: the task asks you to find and speak to an NPC. Continuing to tune an instrument while searching the Index for his name will not advance that location objective.

Arrive after Leo's direction

Finish the opening tutorial's catching, selling, and guitar actions before following the route onward. Leo's direction connects the next quest to Halden. Read your current Quest Log objective if you are unsure whether the task is still at the starter sequence or already asking for the camp visit.

At Halden, speak to begin the five-statue respects task. His location becomes important again at the end, because completing the statue interactions is followed by a return conversation at this same camp.

Use the camp as the return anchor

Remember the camp landmarks before leaving for the statues. When all five respects are done, the log and fire give you a known reward destination, rather than another new search at the end of the route.
